Taking photos of books is way easier than taking photos of shoes and clothes. I use a basic Samsung phone for my camera. I have box lights I ordered from Amazon but I only use it during the winter / grey weather. Natural light is super quick and free, the trick is to know when the best daylight hours are. Lately for me, now that it's cooled down a bit, I take photos around 4 and end at 5, and have 10 - 15 photos ready to post throughout the day. The photo above was taken with my fancy lights, and the photo below is natural lighting. I normally take 4 photos: front cover, spine, back cover, and front page. I will also take photos of any imperfections and mention it in my description.
I use a cream colored linen bedsheet I found at a thrift store for flat lays. I also like to think of my shop aesthethic. You don't have to do this (see example videos below for plain white backdrop tips) but i do so people become familiar with my brand, Hyla Brook Books.
