Work With Me: Catching Up

12/18/2020 4:53PM  I haven't done a post like this in a while and it was super helpful to stay on course. Anthony left to work, his hours are 5-9 today, and I decided I will list books that whole time. While he is at work, I'll be working.  5:36 PM I picked out a bunch of books that look good together to list. I checked Depop and I had a new sale - the plant books, 3 that I sourced online finally sold. I had them priced really high and I had a sale in my shop. I think if you have 30% off sales, people tend to find you more. I am running my sale for the weekend because these are books that have been in my shop for months. I am trying to move inventory out. I'm also dying to go sourcing at my favorite spot: the Hospice. Which I haven't been since I got those dog toys for Alice, that was more than three weeks ago. my phone has been charging. Time to take some photos. 6:18 pm listed flight behavior and homeland (depop) 6:21 pm listed butterfly book bundle (depop) 6:36 pm li

How I Track My Goals

After struggling to keep a planner this year I realized that I do have a method of organization that without it, I'd be totally lost and unprepared. I thought I'd break down my method for setting goals, tracking habits, and sticking to projects. Tip #1 Break Your Year in Quarters - Q1, Q2, Q3, Q4 Tip #2 Know Your Short Term & Long Term Goals Tip #3 Create weekly habits to achieve your goals Tip #4 Review Your Month in Stages - Beginning, Middle, End Tip #5 Set Time for Play  Tip #6 Have a Wall Calendar / weekly calendar / a cork board for inspiration or receipts Tip #7 Set Alarms Tip #8 Be Realistic and Flexible Tip #9 Learn to make a budget and stick to it Tip #10  Plan the Night Before For Reselling, my biggest tips for tracking progress is to set goals that are attainable and achievable, and to do that, you need data. I was able to push myself little by little every month to where I almost make $400 per month.  Keep a list of everything you sell that year using

Go Getter! Mid Month Review December

I officially made $500 on Mercari!! I recieved my Go Getter Badge and will be setting up a new goal for 2021~ This is a perfect time to make my Mid Month Review. Every month I have my Monthly Goals, my Mid Month Review, and my End of the Month review. This is to stay on top of my goals.  Plan W Me:   My Mercari goal I made on 7/30/2020 and accomplished it today 12/15/2020. it took me 5 months  long to make $500. I wonder how much I made off of Depop in one year?  I had 105 Orders off Depop in 2020. I'll need to go through each listing and fill out my excell sheet - I have a google Excell document titled What Books Sold That Month but I stopped keeping track on it in September. I do have my What Sold blog posts though to help me. So that is my new goal this month is to get that list finished for my records. I really want to know how much I made off Depop in one year! My goal is to make $400 this month, relist old inventory, use Etsy, and organize my inventory. As of writing this

The Quest for the Lost Library Books

That's more dramatic than it needs to be. I picked out some books the other week and forgot to bring them home and made a huge fuss looking for them because one of the books was by my favorite author, Norton Juster. After dropping off packages I went to the library with new eyes and I felt so lucky that I found the books I had selected but forgot. I need to start listing books. My goal is 10-20 books a day on Instagram, Depop, and Mercari. I've been procrastinating. It's so much more fun to source and I am bent on selling inventory that has gone stale. There might be a yard sale in my future. I donated $2 because I am flat broke. i got 17 books.  The Christmas Story illuminated by Isabelle Brent Barn Owl by Phyllis Flower Counting Coup by Joseph Medicine Crow Beauty and the Serpent, 13 tales of unnatural animals As a surfiet of similes, norton juster the wizard, the witch, and two girls from jersey the ordinary princess by m. m. kaye the christmas killer by patricia winds

Vintage Cookbooks! Free books!

It was my first time going to PALS to get food. Cars lined up to get one box per person from the food pantry that had been donated by the community - the week after Thanksgiving, we got a turkey and outside I spotted a cardboard box full of books. "Can I have those books?" I asked one of the volunteers. "Yes any books outside this door is free." And she motioned for Anthony to take it.  There was a total of 20 free cookbooks !  One book sold a few hours after listing on Mercari. Families, even my cat family, were helped very much thanks to the generosity of donors, volunteers, partner agencies, and supporters.  Vintage Cookbooks Gooseberry Patch's Christmas Book 6 2004 Cookie Dough Fun,  1997 Chicken Soup for the Couples Soul (with a story by Deepak Chopra) 1999 The Fisherman's Cookbook, Morisson Wood, 1955 Betty Crockers Picture Cookbook, 1950 Let's Cook it Right, 1947 Food Favorites, Treasured Recipes, 1983 Crisco Cooking, 1982 The Souther

first time Retail Arbitrage

I've never done retail arbitrage before because I'd rather source from ethical and local businesses, but I broke that rule today. I found 3 books from the dollar tree that were recently published, hardcover, with the original stickers on it. Definately might change my mind about doing this more to have more modern books in my bookstore. I never go to the Dollar Tree because it's in Kilgore and I dont drive, but that old lady Miss Alice decided to drive down after Anthony's interview. I also got a Dr. Seuss calendar I might resell instead of keeping it myself

Plan With Me : December 2020

Every day is a benediction. I have been thanking God every day. I have a disability with my hand, a rare nerve disease called CRPS from shattering glass. Books are literally saving my life. Last month I made my record number in sales. My inventory has doubled in one month with beautiful picture books in pristine, loved condition. I'm going to get more books this month from the Rusk County Library. If that isn't a blessing, I don't know what is. Not sure why the Lord is letting me hijack the library, but they are letting me walk out with hundreds of books and are giving me the green light to do it. My goals this month are to relist books that have been sitting this year and make room for all the beautiful books I have. List on Instagram and respond right away to messages and ship as soon as possible.  List everything I can and my clothes that i got in my closet.  My sales goal is to make $400 this month. Last month, November 2020, I made $369.99. I'd like to make 3-5 or

End of The Month Reseller Report November 2020

Blogging has been a great way to keep up with book keeping. Did I make over $360? How many orders did I have this month? Did I sell anything else besides books?  I did break my record and my sales total for this month was $369.99. I had a total of 29 orders this month.  The highlight of November was the Rusk County Library sale, I got over 300 beautiful books added to my inventory. Cyberweek sales and black friday also helped over on Depop and I cleared a lot of books that have been listed for a while.  I continued uploading short videos to Youtube. (I now have 30 followers) My facebook page has also grown so much.  Oh! And I got books for my birthday.  Here's a recap of my blog posts from November in case you missed anything: What Sold - November 1- 7 What Sold - November 8-14 What Sold - November 15 - 21 What Sold - November 22 - 30 I go sourcing for books every week, sometimes more than twice.
