End of the Month Reseller Report October

October I stayed focused and goal oriented. Did i achieve the goals I set this month? What was my best sale and biggest achievement? This is my Mid Month Review and my October Plan With Me blog posts. One of my goals was to list 300 items on Depop. The other major goal was to make $360 this month selling books.  Net Worth as of 10/26 - $325.54 (2 orders uncounted) *needs update its 6:36 am  Depop Listings = 310 Mercari Listings =185* Etsy Listings = 34*  Let's look at the positive! A copy of my poetry chapbook sold. I went to my first Estate sale and found antique books! I began my first resin project in 3 months using a poem that's 124 years old.  One of my fastest sales was Nurses Verses (I got at the Estate Sale here) and a Titanic bundle. Nurses Verses sold for $46 which is my new record for books that sold for the most profit.  I also sold non bookish items: a Steeler's jacket, Alice in Wonderland leggings, a vintage Avon picture frame Nanowrimo is around the corne

What Sold october 23-31

Sales have been very slow on Depop and Mercari. It's time to invest more into Etsy! I've decided to source antique and vintage books for my Etsy store.  To help improve sales on Depop, I've started to add hashtags to all my listings.  Lot of 3 green antique books Sold on Etsy for $30. It cost $3.33 to ship. After fees, my profit was $24.46. Wildalone  Got this book free so it was all profit. Sold on Mercari for $9. The selling fee was .90 cents. Since this was posted before Mercaris October Update I did not get charged a processing fee. Shipping was $3.33. I made $4.77. Apples This is my poetry chapbook available for download only on Etsy. I had another sale running for 15% off. This helped pay my etsy fees too.  Vintage Halloween books I was sure I'd get more for these because they are so old and in great shape. I made offers on my Halloween books and this sold for $9. Mercari fee was .90 cents and .56 cents.   Shipping was $2.80. I

Thrift with Me // finding books to resell

I spent $8.10 on all these books!! I had to stop by the Hospice for some retail therapy and wool coats. I haven't been in 2 weeks and the women in the front knew I was about to leave with 24 books. What are those???  I couldnt pass these American flag baby converse shoes. I do not have kids but my little sister had her son yesterday, an 11 pound baby!!  a rare look at why some people assume I'm homeless or need a ride. I stopped driving a car years ago and became a complete hermit. I'm hoping to change that by finding  a part time job.  I am so blessed that this has been working for me. That I am 10 minutes walking distance from my honey pot.  List of books 10/30/2020 View video footage on my Facebook here 1. Impresionists Art Game 2. Chitty Chitty Bang Bang 3. The Cat Who Couldnt See in the Dark 4. The Best of Lewis Carroll 5. Beloved by Toni Morrison 6. The Shatters of Stone 7. Grand Horse Stories  8. Queen of the Blues  9. The Harliqui

Hyla Brook Books // my online bookstore

this article originally appeared on Wordpress January 1, 2019 I wanted to share some exciting news. I know it's every book worms dream to own a book store, but I honestly can't stop dreaming about it. I'm inspired by small business owners and other women entrepreneurs. I'm selling books with the poetry lover in mind. I'm also hoping to collab with other shops. I needed to come up with a graceful way to make money for my much needed MRI and surgery. When I started designing my new business it gave me something to look forward to. Most of my vintage books are geared toward the artist. These are all from my beloved book collection. There's a set on Ancient Greece, which has always been a source to fuel my poetry🧡 During this dark time in my life I've turned a lot to poetry especially Robert Frost and William Blake. My aesthetic is inspired by Robert Frost and I'm so excited to watch my business grow. I have so many ideas for my online book shop. Im u

Thrift Wth Me // Western inspired clothes & books to resell

This post originally appeared on Wordpress September 4, 2020.   Hey everyone I got some more books this Thursday for my bookstore but I’m also adding vintage clothes that go with my brand. I think you’ll love what I found. The first items I picked up were this tye dye cardigan and turtleneck shawl/poncho and this fairy cardigan? Actually what is the proper term for this type of top? I don’t normally pick up the dye but I couldn’t resist the material. Then I walked over to the books and found: Miss Dreamsville and the Collier County Womens Literary Society (2012), Arthur & George (2005), Napoleon (1993), Art and History of Pompeii, and a vintage book called The Spirit of Liberty. I browsed a small section dedicated to dressy blazers and coat jackets and found the most amazing horse jacket and suede jacket. The word that came to mind was moccasin, so I just love these two pieces. I always check the shoe racks and never find anythi

Mid Month Review : October 2020

At my last job we would do a monthly review to see if I was making my stats and aligning with my goals. Its a time to step back and strategize and remind myself what my Monthly Goals are. Heres the link to my October Plan w Me. Depop = 213 listings Mercari =  Etsy = 36 listings One of my goals is to have 300 listings and I have more than enough books to list. I need to do some listing!  What Sold - October 1-7 What Sold - October 8-14 What Sold   - October  15-22 My goal for the month is a new record in sales $360. I have also zeroed in on an organizing system. With over 1,000 books tucked away in my one bedroom apartment, some books pull a Houdini on me. The books somehow escape from the shelves or box i put them in, and I'll spend hours trying to figure out where the book is, only to magically find it in a different box. The only books on the shelves are listed; all the books in boxes still need to be photographed and uploaded. They are divided into sections: kids, teen, no

5 Apps to Make Money for Resellers

What apps do you use? In this post I'll share what apps I've used to make money reselling as well as some other platforms you haven't heard of.   Vinted  Their mobil app was launched in 2012 and has 25 million users. This was the first reselling app I ever downloaded, back in 2014.   Depop i've been selling on this app on and off for three years. It's users are next gen, with a flair of indie designers and artisians. It was founded in 2011 by the cofounder of PIG magazine, Simon who originally had the app so people could buy featured items modeld in the magazine, but he realized  the potential and created a reselling platform that looks like Instagram. There are 21 million users who have a passion for fashion and I'm happy with my sales there. Poshmark i had this app and got offers but disliked the userface so much I never bothered. Clunky, but undeniably boasts 60 million users since opening in 2011. (which is astounding since a Forbes article in 2018 cla

Thrift W Me

Supr lucky they had buy 1 get 1 free at the Hospice. This place is a godsend. I spent $11.53. I did get books I don't normally, wondering if I'm not giving these authors a chance since it's not my genre. I do know there are John Grisham and Dean Knootz fans, so since they were free I took that chance. I also got some clothes on a whim! There was only 10 minutes left and I ran to the back, picked up a cheetah print skirt and a white tunic top shirt, more for myself.   17 books total. I couldn't resist the Teddy Bear I think he would look adorable on my shelf. It has a tag on it : J. B. Bean and Associates Freddy Beanberger ($2) The creme top is gauzy with lacey details from Altered State (2.99). The cheetah print skirt is from LORI Michaels collection - a size Large ($2.99) I also got 2 pearl necklaces for $1.  Can't wait to list these! ◦°˚\(*❛‿❛)/˚°◦ Sign up for Mercari and get up to $30.
