Goodwill Resell for Profit - Did I Make My Money Back?

On May 5th I went to Goodwill and purchased books to resell in my secondhand bookshop. I spent a total of $24.67 at Goodwill, but $2 was for personal use. I have already made my money back on these books!        I want to take a look at the sales that came through so far, now everything else in my Goodwill haul that sells will be 100% profit. I also wrote in my previous blog post that I hoped to make my money by the 20th, and it's the 22nd.  The first sale was this Rainbow Brite , like new, book. I listed it for $13 and someone made an offer for $10 within 24 hours of listing. My COG was .99, the selling fee was 1.00 and the processing fee was .91. $8.09 was deposited into my Mercari account. After COG, my profit was $7.10. I am trying to make my money back as fast as possible with this Goodwill experiment. I sent offers to likers and gave a whopping $5 off for this fantasy book lot, the buyer accepted for $17 and paid for shipping.  I forgot that my COG was .99 cents and not

Thrift with me! I spend $25 on inventory to resell in my bookshop!

I had to go pay rent and I looked like a waif doing it. I'm glad I didn't ask for a ride. I was uninfluenced by any one around me, not having to think too hard about socializing.  from a reseller's perspective, I wasted money.  I spent $24.67  on 19  books for the shop. I carried 10 pounds of books and walked 3  miles. You could say that I got a good exercise while sourcing. And one of the books from the haul sold less than 24 hours after listing it! Goodwill thrift haul come book shopping with me! vlog  (And I have if not hundreds of ex library books that still need to be listed.) I am feeling buyer's remorse. I posted a YouTube video of my book haul except I forgot to mention a few details:  This haul was on May 5, and I had all books listed on Mercari, Depop, and Pango books by May 6-7. I'm hoping I will make my money back by the 20th.  I walked into Goodwill the first time with every intention to only spend $5. I bought a small batch of children's books: C

2023 Listing Challenge: What happened? List 100 items in 7 days

Maybe you don't care to know, but I do! Whatever happened to my 2023 Listing Challenge? I only wrote 4 blog posts.  Day 1                            Day 3                 Day 5                         Day 7 My goal was to list 100 items on every platform in one week. I only listed 22 items? My new challenge I've been able to list more without the burnout.  I mostly focus on Mercari. One platform is all I can handle at the moment. Being honest with myself is important for business. I also have a monetary goal: to earn $700 a month selling books on the side. My other part time job? A bookstore owner. Every bookworms dreams!

New Youtube video: Reading Vlog

I started making Youtube videos to share my small bookstore and share my love for books. I hope to have my own books published, and to focus on writing careers. I've been listening to Stephen King's On Writing on audio book, and it's narrated by the King himself. It inspired me to look for jobs at the newspaper, and I got as far as an interview but never heard back from the media group who owns the paper, even though he was impressed with my resume.  My Youtube channel currently only has 57 subscribers. I was hoping to have 100 by now, but that's okay. This video I just put up already has 33 views! It's my best performing video so far, which is not saying much. All my previous videos are not cinematic quality. I worked on this video for a week and produced a good, precise 10 minute Reading Vlog. It was fun recording my process for my first Ann Rule book, and I think I'll do another one reading her for a week.  Reading Vlog
