What Sold on Mercari, Ebay, and Depop - Mid Year Review 2023

The slower months are here and it is the perfect time to catch up on book keeping. I go by Belle, and I mainly sell books but I am broadening my shop to carry more items and take this from a side hustle to a full time job.  I hope to make a full time living selling books, or at least make $12 per hour. How many sales a month does that look like? At the very least, that's $200 a week. I am currently selling mostly on Mercari, but I will get an occasional sale on Depop, Pango Books, and Ebay.  Ebay is new to me and I have so much to learn. There is a bit of a learning curve for Ebay beginners. All my profit is going to my health and medical debt - I have a lot of dental work ahead of me. (as of writing this, I have an abscess in a tooth that is planned for extraction.) So far from part time reselling, I have made $537.89! First, let's check out my top 5 sales and my lowest 5 sales. 5 Highest Net Profiting Sales 2023 5. Dark Academia book bundle, profit was $12.30 4. Gay Ne...

End of the Month Reseller Report // January 2023

I am a part time reseller on Mercari, Pango Books, and Ebay. I flip books online, I love having an online bookstore. Here is a break down of my January sales. This was my first month back reselling! I am hosting a giveaway to welcome back all my readers over on my Facebook page where I am giving away 12 vintage true crime novels. I also wanted to celebrate by doing a fundraiser to raise money and awareness for my favorite cat rescue.  My Cost of Goods were .25! I didn't have to pay anything in shipping, here's a small break down of the platform fees: Mercari:  -$3.56 Pango Books:   -.79 Ebay:   $-1.31 Overall, I had a total of 7 transactions. A total of 9 books left the shop! 3 on Mercari 1 on Pango Books and 1 on Ebay. I also had 2 transactions on Paypal. (100% of the profits went to the rescue.) My goal is consistent sales, I ended up listing only 37 books in the month of January. More listings equals more sales!!  My net profit was $17.28, BUT I di...

My Monthly Reset

This is an in-depth look at all the organization and routines I repeat weekly, monthly, and quarterly. A huge part of this system to reconnect with myself is my journal. I try to journal every day, and I write about whatever I did that day, what my thoughts are, to-do lists. At the end of the month, I like to reread my reflections from the previous month. I indulge in looking back and getting a sense of who i was that month and how that month impacted me. Another part of my journaling process is my Return to Inspiration: Vision Board blog posts. I ask myself the same set of questions as well, and these are questions that I pulled from positive psychologists and people like Brene Brown. I will ask myself if I reached my financial goals, and what are 2 of my financial goals that month?  What are some of the accomplishments you achieved this month? What do you wish you had done in the previous month? The word of the year is peace. How did you find peace this month? What brought ...

End of the Month Review - August 2021

How many orders did I have this month? How much was my profit for August? How many books left the shop? Anything new happen in the bookshop? What Sold August 1-7 What Sold August 8-14 What Sold August 15-21 What Sold August 22-31 27 orders this month. That sounds about right I average 20-30 orders per month.  I turned $9.50 into $388.36 profit! 30 books left the shop ! Plus I did giveaway some books - 3 I believe.  This was my first time I sold a record. I sold 2 in one month so I will definitely keep a look out.  I also started a job, my hire date with Subway was August 17th.

What I thrifted in August 2021

I neglected to make Thrift W Me posts for all the new inventory I sourced this month. I started a new job so on Friday I treated myself to shopping for books. I'm really hoping this first week of September I don't have too many hours. I am having a lot of trouble working a traditional job due to my mental illness and chronic illness.  Having this job will help pay my bills, keeping me secure, and I can have a little more wiggle room for my business. I need to buy bins and bookshelves for all my inventory. Here is a haul I did for my youtube channel. I know it's terrible but it's the best I can do right now.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TxbwcJSxVng I also got some bins this month for storage and it's such a great feeling knowing the books are safe. Here are some books I got for free: These books below I surprisngly got from the Courthouse! I also feel like it's a good sign that someone left The Illusionist and Skyrim at the Free Library, a sign to add more D...

End of Month Reseller Report - July 2021

How much did I make in July? It's August 2nd and I'm taking a look back at my accomplishments.  What Sold July 1-7 What Sold July 8-14 What Sold July 15-21 What Sold July 22-31 I made $235.54 selling books. I did my first ever listing challenge and I want to do another one - stricker dead line.  List 100 Items in 13 Days. That's half the time it took to do the original challenge. 13 is also the date I was born. A Baker's Dozen. Perfect! When I told Joe at the Post Office I wanted to make $1k or $800 a month he blew a tire and looked skeptical, and he kinda laughed. We both did. Is it such a crazy idea that I deserve this? That at the end of everything, I'll be the owner of a secondhand bookshop. Some cool things I added to my shop: Magic The Gathering Cards, skirts, I opened my Ebay store and added items but haven't completed the set up.  Also, my new goal is to make $100 each week by pursuing sales. Offering to likers on Depop which i never do - posting more i...

End of The Month Reseller Report November 2020

Blogging has been a great way to keep up with book keeping. Did I make over $360? How many orders did I have this month? Did I sell anything else besides books?  I did break my record and my sales total for this month was $369.99. I had a total of 29 orders this month.  The highlight of November was the Rusk County Library sale, I got over 300 beautiful books added to my inventory. Cyberweek sales and black friday also helped over on Depop and I cleared a lot of books that have been listed for a while.  I continued uploading short videos to Youtube. (I now have 30 followers) My facebook page has also grown so much.  Oh! And I got books for my birthday.  Here's a recap of my blog posts from November in case you missed anything: What Sold - November 1- 7 What Sold - November 8-14 What Sold - November 15 - 21 What Sold - November 22 - 30 I go sourcing for books every week, sometimes more than twice. There's a Goodwill Trip and Hospice Trip uncounted for. M...

Mid Month Review: November 2020

In the middle of each month I like to evaluate how I'm aligning with my goals. There's still time left this month to make my November stats. Here is my November Plan with Me post - I did not get the librarian assistant job, but I did apply for the Dry Cleaners down the road. At this time, I am out of stimulus money and reaching into my car savings. I am wondering how to double my profits.  How much money have I made so far? The first week I made $35 and last week I made $93.45. That's a total of $128.45. My goal is to make more than $360.  What Sold - November 1-7 What Sold - November 8-14 I am pushing myself to post videos on Youtube - they are 1 to 2 minute snippits of vlog time since I don't have a SIM card. I have a whopping 29 followers on my youtube. Watch my Latest Youtube video here One of my goals for a few months is to have 300 items on Depop, Mercari, and Etsy. I haven't listed on Etsy because it costs twenty cents to list, plus the fees are...

End of the Month Reseller Report October

October I stayed focused and goal oriented. Did i achieve the goals I set this month? What was my best sale and biggest achievement? This is my Mid Month Review and my October Plan With Me blog posts. One of my goals was to list 300 items on Depop. The other major goal was to make $360 this month selling books.  Net Worth as of 10/26 - $325.54 (2 orders uncounted) *needs update its 6:36 am  Depop Listings = 310 Mercari Listings =185* Etsy Listings = 34*  Let's look at the positive! A copy of my poetry chapbook sold. I went to my first Estate sale and found antique books! I began my first resin project in 3 months using a poem that's 124 years old.  One of my fastest sales was Nurses Verses (I got at the Estate Sale here) and a Titanic bundle. Nurses Verses sold for $46 which is my new record for books that sold for the most profit.  I also sold non bookish items: a Steeler's jacket, Alice in Wonderland leggings, a vintage Avon picture frame Nanowrimo is...

Mid Month Review : October 2020

At my last job we would do a monthly review to see if I was making my stats and aligning with my goals. Its a time to step back and strategize and remind myself what my Monthly Goals are. Heres the link to my October Plan w Me. Depop = 213 listings Mercari =  Etsy = 36 listings One of my goals is to have 300 listings and I have more than enough books to list. I need to do some listing!  What Sold - October 1-7 What Sold - October 8-14 What Sold   - October  15-22 My goal for the month is a new record in sales $360. I have also zeroed in on an organizing system. With over 1,000 books tucked away in my one bedroom apartment, some books pull a Houdini on me. The books somehow escape from the shelves or box i put them in, and I'll spend hours trying to figure out where the book is, only to magically find it in a different box. The only books on the shelves are listed; all the books in boxes still need to be photographed and uploaded. They are divided into...

Plan w M: October 2020

At the end of every month I do a review of how I did that previous month. This is also the best time to set goals for next month. October is the start of the last quarter, so I also want to look at my long term goals. I have a clear vision for my secondhand bookshop. "We become what we think about all day long." If you had a goal and thought about it on a regular basis you would reach it more easily. I always ask myself these questions: What are my top 3 goals for this month? Make $360 - organize my inventory - list 300 items What are my weekly goals to accomplish those long term goals? 60 listings posted weekly, share on social media, set up bookshelf, create a SKU system, have a shop routine What could I have done different in the previous month to improve my shop revenue? Inventory will help me save time looking for books that need to be shipped. List every single day 2-4 items or 10-15 listings. Focus on listing books with high resell value and begin listing clo...
