Mid Month Review : October 2020

 


 

At my last job we would do a monthly review to see if I was making my stats and aligning with my goals. Its a time to step back and strategize and remind myself what my Monthly Goals are. Heres the link to my October Plan w Me.

One of my goals is to have 300 listings and I have more than enough books to list. I need to do some listing!

My goal for the month is a new record in sales $360. I have also zeroed in on an organizing system.

With over 1,000 books tucked away in my one bedroom apartment, some books pull a Houdini on me. The books somehow escape from the shelves or box i put them in, and I'll spend hours trying to figure out where the book is, only to magically find it in a different box.

The only books on the shelves are listed; all the books in boxes still need to be photographed and uploaded. They are divided into sections: kids, teen, nonfiction, reference, vintage books. It's not a refined system but it'll do until I get more shelf space.

Another goal is to post on social media, its hard with my disability. most of the time i use my left hand only. I have CRPS in my right arm, a rare degenerative nerve disease. so much strife and sorrow came with 2020 but my bookshop brings me hope for the future.

🎃👻This is the first week of October! Let's see how much I made. Sadly this was my slowest week in sales in 3 months - only 6 sales! Depop has made some changes to the app: added cropping to photos and a My DNA tab to find items you love. It's important not to give up.  3 out of 6 sales were from Mercari. I sold a total of 8 books (I spent $1.50)  and made $24.49.  Frontiers, Prarie Brides Sent an offer for $7 and they accepted. The Mercari fee was .70. Shipping cost was $3.33. I made $2.97. The Outsiders Someone sent me an offer for $7 and I said yes. The Mercari fee was .70. Shipping cost $2.80. I made $3.50   Demi Lovato, Staying Strong Sold for $8. The Mercari seller fee was .80 cents. Shipping cost was $2.80. I made $4.40.   Harry the Dirty Dog This sold on Depop for $9.81. The Depop fee was .98 cents. The shipping fee was $2.80. November Plan With Me / 2020

I have an online secondhand bookshop using Etsy, Depop, and Mercari. I also have a rare nerve disease called CRPS that is gradully getting worse. Hyla brook Books isn't just a distraction, it's a benediction. I applied for my dream job: an children's librian assistant at the library. I had hope that I could make a living of $300/ week reselling - but my record sales in a month was $351.13 (August report). It's my dream to make a living selling my art and books.  What are my top 3 goals for the month of November? Make $390 - sell my art work - list 300 items across all platforms What are my weekly goals to accomplish my monthly goals? What Happened To the Declutter Deathpile Series?

 There were two main objectives in the Declutter Deathpile series, or The Minn Game: 1. Get rid of clutter by removing items from my apartment.  "out with the old, in with the new."  "everything must go"  "letting go of what no longer serves my business" and not listing items that are not worth my time. 2. complete within 30 days removing 1 pound of stuff on day 1, 2 pounds of stuff on day 2, and so on and forth. "a weight off my shoulders" "quantifying how much I let go."
