Thrift With Me// They didn't comp this BOLO item, didn't know it was that valuable!!

I made myself go to the Hospice to see what I could find. It's one of the closest thrift stores, but over the last year has changed as the staff comps prices. I didn't make it there until close to lunch time. I've been very disciplined not to over spend. Something that was holding me back was telling myself I could NOT source until I had recouped the money from whatever I had just thrifted - this prevented me from thrifting every day and having a large death pile. It also gave me time to learn about what brands to pick up. HOWEVER, a lot of time would go between sourcing, I wouldn't feel inspired to list, and I wasn't applying what I was learning. I felt like a dog on a chain on a pretty fall day.  I am closely following the advice not to spend my own money in the beginning. (meaning, my survival job pays the bills and feeds me and buys needful things.) I am sourcing as much as possible for FREE - donations, dumpster diving, my death pile. Whenever I make sales, I

Thrift with me // Staying in my comfort zone - one sale so far!!

I had to do something to make myself feel good. I went to the Hospice, where I should have gone to spend $127. I got me some good old books and spent a total of $20.64.  The first item I listed was this Dorothy dress from the Wizard of Oz. It's not too late to sell costumes before Halloween. I paid $4 and listed this for $15. If this item sells then I will have made half my money back.  I came across a handful of fantasy paperback books. (Mercedes Lackey, Douglas Adams.) They have the coolest covers even if they aren't worth much. I'm going to list them individually, and then in a week lot them up together. Each book was only .25 cents.  The Fall vest was only $1.50. I have it listed for $20. These art teacher style vests are really in right now, so hopefully this one will sell since it's affordably priced!  This is another item that if it doesn't sell within 7 days of listing then I am totally keeping for myself!! It's this adorable cat with a fiddle. It gives

Thrift W/Me: I spent WAY too much!!

A subscriber sent me $300 to go shopping and I spent $124 on stuff I CANNOT resell. They were all BAD BUYS!! I am going to do my best to list everything from this haul and recoup my money. If I had just followed ONE SIMPLE step, I would have avoided this costly mistake. Don't Shop at Mom and Pop Stores Check for chips, cracks, wheels, chargers I will have to sell these Apple salt and pepper shakers for $10 to make my $8 back. I thought they made cute cottagecore, whimsy, fall decor. I did NOT notice the chip until I was taking photos. Listed on Depop, Mercari, IG, and FB pg. Of course, I couldn't resist the equally adorable Corn salt and pepper shakers. Maybe these will have a higher chance of selling due to Thanksgiving around the corner? These were only $5.  Why did I buy this wooden toy? Was it a dragon? A worm? When I got home, I tried to pull it by the strings and it did not roll smoothly. $10 down the drain. I ponder  painting it. I thought with Christmas around the corn
