End of the Month Reseller Report // January 2023

I am a part time reseller on Mercari, Pango Books, and Ebay. I flip books online, I love having an online bookstore. Here is a break down of my January sales. This was my first month back reselling! I am hosting a giveaway to welcome back all my readers over on my Facebook page where I am giving away 12 vintage true crime novels. I also wanted to celebrate by doing a fundraiser to raise money and awareness for my favorite cat rescue.  My Cost of Goods were .25! I didn't have to pay anything in shipping, here's a small break down of the platform fees: Mercari:  -$3.56 Pango Books:   -.79 Ebay:   $-1.31 Overall, I had a total of 7 transactions. A total of 9 books left the shop! 3 on Mercari 1 on Pango Books and 1 on Ebay. I also had 2 transactions on Paypal. (100% of the profits went to the rescue.) My goal is consistent sales, I ended up listing only 37 books in the month of January. More listings equals more sales!!  My net profit was $17.28, BUT I did it doing something I lov

I Made a Sale On Ebay in less than 24 Hours of Listing!!

I couldn't help but announce my first sale on Ebay!!  I had a lot of doubts about Ebay since I do not shop there and I know a lot of younger people don't shop there. The fact that my book sold less than 24 hours of listing it really surprised me!  I'm a curious cat, so I searched the username that bought my book and saw his positive feed back history, all with other online book shops. I feel lucky and want to make a good impression so they will come back!  I got this book for free, and I sold it for $2.99. The buyer paid $3.65 for shipping. I am learning as I go with Ebay. The fee was $1.31. My total profit was $1.68. I listed 18 items in one day on Ebay, just the books I have on Mercari and Pango books for the last 13 days. There are so many more books to list!!

Flash Fundraiser! Selling Used Books For a Cat Rescue

I haven't officially opened my shop, however , I did start with a flash fundraiser!! This means a lot to me. I listed 20 vintage books over on my shop's Facebook page, which you can find here, Hyla Brook Books.              I sold The Gospel According To Sam for $4.95 and Wilder Girls for $5.00. For two books, I charged $5.99 for shipping. My reader's total was  $15.94.            The Paypal fee was $1.05. After the Paypal fee, the net amount is $14.89. The shipping ended up being $5.05, and to pay for the label through Paypal there was a $1.80 fee. And then there is a cost to print the label, which is .50 cents.          Our donation amount was $7.54!                 Next, sold A Wolf at the Door for $7. It has a lot of amazing writers in it. And Walking with Peety , which looks very endearing, for $3.95. The shipping was $5.99. My reader's total was $16.94.                  The Paypal fee was $1.08. After the Paypal fee the net amount is $15.86. My shipping costs

What Sold January 15-21 (My First Week Back!) I turned .25 cents into $13.49!

I can't believe that the same week I started listing I got sales!! There were three occasions, all sunny afternoons at the end of January between 3 pm and 5pm, right before it got too dark to take pictures. I took photos of all new inventory and chose Pango Books and Mercari to start listing.  There has been a lot of promotions on my Facebook page, the social media platform I spend most of my time on. I joined some facebook groups for resellers. I decided on my next paycheck, I wanted to buy my domain. This side hustle was my dream job, maybe being a teacher feels out of reach. But I've always wanted to be a writer. A bookseller, being my own business owner, maybe. Just maybe that's what I can do!  My reselling goal is to make what I made at my survival job. (I got paid $12/hour and worked 16 hours a week. Some weeks I worked 22 hours.) I'll be satisfied if I make any where between $80- $170. I listed a total of ___ books to each platform, and a total of 3 books sold.

52 Week Side Hustle Money Saving Challenge!! Week 1 & 2

Week 1 & 2 of my 52 Week Savings Challenge 🌱 . A fun way to save money is with the 52 week challenge. On week 1 you save $1, Week 2 save $2, on week 38 you save $38, and so on until the end of the year. I added a twist to my challenge! The twist is that I have to earn the money with side hustles. Do you know how hard that will be to save every week? My partner asked when I told him the idea. That's the point of a challenge!! . For Week 1 and 2 I earned this through tips at my survival job, which I no longer have any more. Check out my blog for more money making tips and strategies!
