What Sold January 2023 -- I turned .75 into $39!!

I'm writing this as late as September, but I realized I never made a detailed blog with my sales in January. In January 2023, I reopened my small used bookstore to the public after quitting a toxic job. There are a handful of sales from mulitple platforms.

In total, I sold 9 books. My COG was only .75. My net profit was $39

EBAY

I Am Legend, sold for $2.99 plus $3.65 shipping. I bought the shipping label through ebay. My total earnings was $1.68. This item was Free.

MERCARI

The Pumpkin Queen for $6. Buyer paid shipping. My earnings were $4.73. This book was Free.

Mythology, my COG was .25. Sold for $7 buyer paid shipping. my earnings were $5.60. Minus my COG, my net profit was $5.35

The Alchemist was FREE. sold for $3. Buyer paid for shipping. My earning were $2.11.

PANGO BOOKS

The Lincoln Highway was Free. It sold for $3.95. I earned $3.16.

I made NO SALES ON DEPOP.

A Wolf at the Door $7 and Walking with Peety (COG .25) $3.95 plus $5.99 shipping. My net amount was $15.99.

The Gospel According to Sam $4.95 (COG. 25) and Wilder Girls $5 plus $5.99 shipping. My net amount was $14.89.

(I will subtract $4.50 for shipping when i total the amounts for both these orders)

These funds were donated to Nine Chances Rescue.

End of Month Reseller Report - July 2021

How much did I make in July? It's August 2nd and I'm taking a look back at my accomplishments. What Sold July 1-7 What Sold July 8-14 What Sold July 15-21 What Sold July 22-31 I made $235.54 selling books. I did my first ever listing challenge and I want to do another one - stricker dead line. List 100 Items in 13 Days. That's half the time it took to do the original challenge. 13 is also the date I was born. A Baker's Dozen. Perfect! When I told Joe at the Post Office I wanted to make $1k or $800 a month he blew a tire and looked skeptical, and he kinda laughed. We both did. Is it such a crazy idea that I deserve this? That at the end of everything, I'll be the owner of a secondhand bookshop. What Sold July 1-7

These weekly What Sold posts kept me organized, so I'm bringing them back. I review what items sold on each platform, how much it sold, the fees, and what my profit was. Every month I have the same goal to make $350, but my dream goal is to make $800 per month just by selling books. I currently sell on Depop, Mercari, Instagram, Etsy, and various Facebook groups. Depop has been incredibly slow - I have not made any July sales yet. In June I had 4 orders, in May I had 3, in April I had 6 orders, 7 orders in March, 9 in February, and 7 in January. That gives you an idea how many orders come through Depop and why it's important to cross list. I think I have more sales on Mercari. The Summer Slowdown is here! Selling on Ebay for Beginners - Pt. 1

I am brand new to selling on Ebay, I avoided it because I personally felt that the interface felt outdated, I never buy anything on Ebay, and Ebay seems intimidating . On the other platforms I sell on, it is so easy and fast to list. When I listed my first item, it felt like I was filing out paperwork at a doctor's office. It's going to take some time to get used to Ebay's layout, a newcomer can't navigate the Seller's Hub so quickly. It's free to register. Ebay will send an amount to your bank you have to confirm to receive payments. When you first start out, you can only list 10 items per month, this renews every 90.
