These weekly What Sold posts kept me organized, so I'm bringing them back. I review what items sold on each platform, how much it sold, the fees, and what my profit was. Every month I have the same goal to make $350, but my dream goal is to make $800 per month just by selling books. I currently sell on Depop, Mercari, Instagram, Etsy, and various Facebook groups.
Depop has been incredibly slow - I have not made any July sales yet. In June I had 4 orders, in May I had 3, in April I had 6 orders, 7 orders in March, 9 in February, and 7 in January. That gives you an idea how many orders come through Depop and why it's important to cross list. I think I have more sales on Mercari.
The Summer Slowdown is here!
I haven't made any sales yet on Mercari in July. Mercari makes it a little harder to view your sales history in chronological order, but here is how many orders went through each month this year 2021 on Mercari:
January - | | | | | |
February -
March - | | | | | | | |
April - | | | | | | |
May - | | | | | | |
June - | | | | | | | |
Looks like I should make Mercari my primary.
So no sales this week from Depop or Mercari, remember it is the 4th of July weekend AND we are in the full swing of summer. Speaking of 4th of July weekend, nothing sold during the #letfreedomringbooksale.
This week, the first week of July, I only had one order, and I'm so lucky it is someone who has ordered from me 4 times now.
I had the Celtic Borders book for a while and decided to combine it with A brief History The Celts by historian Peter B. Ellis, who's work I read back in January. I picked A Brief History of the Celts up at Goodwill so it was .99 cents. The Celtic Borders book was .25 cents. I sold them as a set for $10.50 shipped. The Paypal fee was .60 cents. The shipping cost was $2.89. My profit was $5.77.
I'm really hoping this month will pick up, because I'm itching to go sourcing again.
