How To Increase Your Sales For Your Online Boutique

A day goes by with no sales. Then another. What can you do when you dont see any sales?
Here are 5 tips to increase your sales on Depop and Mercari

1. Get to listing
This sounds obvious but if you want more sales you have to start listing more items. Aim for 2, 4, 10, 15, or 20 listings every day. I have a ton of items that arent listed.

2. Bump / Promote
For Depop, I recommend "bumping" your items at least once a day, I aim for morning, noon, and night to catch people in different time zones.
For Mercari, you can promote 10 listings a day. I recommend pricing items higher on Mercari so you can promote over time. Also send interested people good deals.

3. Relist old listings
Any item I've had listed for 3 months I relist, that way it appears to all my new followers. This is also great exercise if you cant list new items, simply relist items that you expected would fly off the shelf.

4. Share On Social Media
I built a FB for Hyla Brook Books a year ago and I only have 577 followers, but the numbers dont matter. Engagement is key.
I also have 2 IG for my bookshop, one is my book art and the other is more candid thrifting and book selling.
I'm also have this blog and a blog dedicated to book store where I share links.
And I'm trying to get a camera to start a YT.
But you do not need a social media following to be successful on the apps.

5. Retake photos
I've had bad photos stay up and I'll retake them so they are lighter and better quality.  This has helped in the past.

Dont give up. Remember why you started.

It can be nervewracking not to have any sales for a few days. Focus on products that will sell by looking at your past history. For example, classic books sell very well for me so I can relist my classic books. Vintage books do well for me too, so I need to make sure all my vintage books are in my Etsy shop.

I also have a post with 5 FB groups to help you sell in this post --
