Tips for Resellers for the Summer Slow Down

Feeling discourged? It's the middle of the summer and my sales have slowed almost to a complete stop. I sell books on Depop, Mercari, Instagram, and Facebook, my bookshop is Hyla Brook Books. I found myself relistening to my own podcast to remember my advice; I've listed 100 items over the last 22 days and only 10% sold. But think of it this way - I'm setting up my shop for success for the fall.

1. Let go of Stale Inventory & Write Mid Year Review

Listing Challenge: I listed like Daily Refinement for A Week

Daily Refinement says you can make $100 a day if you list 5 items that will make you $20 profit. I really like how he puts this into perspective, plus, this challenge motivates you to list items that are worth your time. It's October 1st, and I need to list 5 items! Already the challenge of having enough to source at that high value is evident. All my items I got for free or have been in my closet for a long time. I also want my main focus to be Ebay and Mercari. The first item I listed was this rare, vintage y2k denim overbust shrug bolero. I got this years ago when I started shopping on Poshmark for myself. Or maybe it was Vinted. I don't remember. What Sold April 2023 // I turned $2 into $121.77!!

March was a bad month for me, I'm not sure if it gets better in April!! No Ebay Sales. No Depop Sales. MERCARI The Ninth House sold for $14, I purhcased for $1.50. My earnings were $11.69. Sold Stack of 4 antique books for $15.00. My earnings were $12.56. These books were Free. Sold the Fox Fire book for $5. This was FREE. My earnings were 3.85. Sold the Silk scarf Carlisle for $14. I paid $1 for this. My earnings were $11.69. sold antique book lot for $76. These were free. I made $65.49. Sold vampire book lot. FREE. I made $4.58 from this $6 sale. Sold The Catcher in the Rye, for $5. I earned $3.73. Sold The Fisherman's Wharf, FREE I sold for $13. I made 10.68.
